Does God really love us?
A: Dear Kamden,
Yes, He really does! The Bible is full of places where God tells us and shows us He loves us.
In Jeremiah, He says “I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you” (Jeremiah 31:3). In Isaiah He tells us “Can a woman forget her nursing child… Even these may forget, yet I will not forget you. Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands…” (Isaiah 49:15-16). In other words, He loves us more than even our mothers love us. The most famous Bible verse in the world says “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16). God loves us so much He gave His only Son for us. And my personal favorite, “God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). This one tells us that even when we are bad, “still sinners,” God still loves us with His everlasting love.
It has been said that Jesus was asked how much He loved us, and He said “This much” and stretched out His arms and died. And He loves you very much!
Thanks for writing, and remember, there's never been a better time to share Jesus!
