If there was no sin in heaven how did lucifer begin to sin and become the devil?

Thanks so much for watching the show, and thanks for such a good question! Because God is a God of love, He wants His creatures to serve Him out of love. But in order for love to be true, it must be freely given. Love cannot be forced. This is why God gives all of His creatures the freedom of choice. But because they have this freedom, they can choose to not serve Him. This is what Lucifer did. We don’t know exactly why, except that the Bible says he became proud and self-important. “How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning!... For you have said in your heart: ‘I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God… I will be like the Most High.’” (Isaiah 14:12-14, NKJV). “You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created, till unrighteousness was found in you… Your heart was proud because of your beauty” (Ezekiel 28:15, 17).

We, too, have the same choice that Lucifer had. We see where his choice led him. We should consider it a special privilege that God has given us the freedom of choice, and choose to serve Jesus with all our heart.
